Output GVA

This new report on Output (Gross Value Added, or GVA) of the Tyne & Wear economy presents the latest estimates from ONS, which are for 2008, in the context of previous years’ data, with comparisons with other Metropolitan counties.

TWRI has calculated real growth rates.

In 2008, the Tyne & Wear economy shrank by about 1%, which is slightly faster than the comparator Met counties (except West Yorks.).

From 1997-2007, however, Tyne & Wear grew uniquely strongly amongst Met counties.
